Alhamdhulillah I had become a serious student of Islam from 2003 after 3 decades of teaching Computer Science and Engineering. Allah SWT introduced me to the 'Translation of the Meaning of the Glorious Quran' by brother Abdullah Yusuf Ali, of all places in the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok during the summer of 1984. Then I was introduced the collections Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where I served the Department of Computer Engineering, College of Computer and Information Sciences of King Saud University as Assistant Professor from 1984 to 1991.
I found that sites like http://www.jihadwatch.org and http://www.humancafe.com carry misunderstood reports on Islam and portray Islam as a religion of world conquest. They assume that the later Verses of the Holy Quran abrogate the earlier Verses ignoring the fact that Allah SWT knows all about the future and thus His Words are independent of time. Still because of the belief that abrogation applies many non-Muslims and some Muslims too claim that Verse 9:5 abrogates Verse 2:256.
